SAN MATEO

The project for San Mateo was to prune the 11 Eucalyptus trees around the property to prepare them for winter. The trees are property adjacent and impact the property as well as the city street and sidewalk. We pruned them to reduced heavy end weight and remove deadwood throughout to help them better withstand the environmental stressors of winter. We used a 65’ bucket truck to access the trees safely and make the work more efficient. The material was staged, processed into a large chip truck and recycled offsite at a green waste recycling facility. Planning involved working with the city of San Mateo public works dept to obtain necessary encroachment and no parking permits. Prestart planning included advance notification so the partner can prepare the areas accordingly and we posted signs 72 hours in advance. Performing the work involved securing the work site with cones and caution tape as well as providing additional resources to assist in managing pedestrian foot traffic. The project took 2 days to complete. Being that this is such a high traffic, and visible location, we had to be perfect and work as a team, communicating every step of the way to ensure employee and pedestrian safety, city and permit compliance and partner satisfaction. Due to excellent planning and project execution, the job went perfectly, and our partner was very satisfied with the results.
